The Medical Background Diploma Program

 The "Best Value Medical Background Program" is a program consisting of five certificate courses:

 -Medical Terminology I

-Medical Terminology II

-Anatomy and Physiology I

-Anatomy and Physiology II

-Certification Prep. Course.

This path will ensure that you are fully prepared to suceed as a Medical Interpreter and obtain your Certification. Our Alumni are proof of our success in obtaining employment and certificatioin.

Diploma Tuition Cost: $2000

Duration of Diploma Program: The 160 hour Diploma Program is designed to be completed in as little as 4 months. Average Alumni have completed the program in 6 – 9 months.

Prerequisites: Students interested in our program should be 18 years of age and have a High School diploma or equivalent. Student’s must also prove their proficiency in English and the target language.

Student Assessment: MiTio partner’s with Language Testing International to asses a student’s proficiency in their target language.

Curriculum Standards: MiTio curriculum covers Interpreting Modes and Roles as well as all of IMIA Standards of Practice for Medical Interpreting to include the IMIA Codes of Ethics.

Medical Terminology: MiTio courses for Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology provide university level Medical Terminology instruction. In addition, our Skype sessions teach and assess oral Medical Terminology skills.

Written and Oral Exams: Each MiTio Learning Path contains six units each, each unit contains a quiz/exam to assess information learned and retained. Each unit also consist of six Skype sessions where Oral assessments/exams are given by the Facilotator. A Final Written Exam consisting 50 questions must have a passing grade of 70% or higher.
